John Prophet (died 1416) was an English medieval Keeper of the Privy Seal and Dean of Hereford and York. He was university educated and served from 1380 onwards as a clerk in the Privy Seal office and clerk of the council under Richard II. Under Henry IV he was made the king's secretary from 1402 to 1406 and from 1406 to 1415 the Keeper of the Privy Seal.
